Who Are We?
tw-Security was founded in 2003 by Tom Walsh, CISSP, to bring practical and affordable cybersecurity and privacy expertise to healthcare. From the beginning, the focus has been on real-world risk and clear priorities rather than theory or complexity. What started as a solo practice has grown into a nationally trusted firm made up of former CISOs, CIOs, privacy officers, and senior consultants with deep healthcare experience.
Our leadership has helped shape healthcare cybersecurity from its early days, guided by a people-first approach that still defines our work. As a privately owned firm, tw-Security remains focused on long-term relationships and doing what is right for clients.
Our Mission
Our mission is to help healthcare organizations safeguard patient information, operations, and trust without unnecessary burden. We believe strong security and privacy programs must be practical, risk-based, and aligned with how organizations actually operate. That means delivering only what is needed, respecting budget realities, and focusing on outcomes that hold up under regulatory and operational pressure.
